Small grant scheme – Braybrook

The Neighbourhood Renewal small grant scheme was launched in April 2010, offering funding of $500 to help community members get an eye health project started or to complement an existing project.

The Braybrook Neighbourhood Centre was successful in applying a grant to fund an eye health education session and healthy lunch for members of the Braybrook community. On 19 May 2010 a speaker from Vision Australia presented to the group, providing information about the importance of regular eye tests to prevent avoidable vision loss and blindness and how to access local eye health care providers.

Thirty four people attended the session and evaluation indicated that the participants found the information useful and enjoyed learning about eye health and vision care.
