The Vision Initiative attended the recent VACKH meeting where the Australian College of Optometry reported on the status of the role out of the new subsidised spectacle scheme in Victoria. The College announced that over 200 pairs of glasses have already been distributed as part of the scheme.
The Indigenous Eye Health Unit at Melbourne University reported on a current research project looking into service provision in rural and remote locations nationally and identifying indicators, barriers and enablers to enhance service delivery.
