Professor Hugh R. Taylor AC will be presenting the 2011 Gerard Crock Lecture on Thursday 9 June 2011 at the Clemenger Auditorium, NGV International, Melbourne.
His paper is entitled, "The challenges for eye care in Australia: promotiong healthy vision and closing the gap in Indigenous eye health".
Professor Taylor AC is the Harold Mitchell Chair of Indigenous Eye Health, The University of Melbourne. He is an ophthalmologist and Australia's leading authority on Indigenous eye health. A passionate supporter of Indigenous health, Professor Taylor is committed to the elimination of trachoma and reducing Indigenous disadvantage.
This annual public lecture honours the memory and contribution of Professor Gerard Crock AO (1929-2007), the foundation Professor and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Melbourne.
