ACO Therapeutics Weekend – day 1

Australian College of Optometry’s annual Therapeutics Weekend is a refresher course on theoretical knowledge and the practical skills, helping attending to become more confident in the diagnosis and treatment of a range of anterior and posterior segment inflammations.

Saturday sessions

During the Saturday morning session presenters will discuss the various manifestations of conjunctivitis, keratitis, anterior scleritis, anterior uveitis and intermediate uveitis. On Saturday afternoon, our speakers will consider the posterior segment in detail.

  • 9.30am – 1.00pm: Therapeutics course (theory) – anterior eye (T), presented by Prof Rasik Vajpayee and Dr Sanj Wickremasinghe
  • 1.30pm – 5.00pm: Refresher course (theory) -Posterior eye, presented by Assoc Prof Celia Chen and Dr Sanj Wickremasinghe

Sunday session

The external eye will be the area of focus on Sunday morning. The session will commence with an introductory lecture followed by a comprehensive practical session-a ‘hands-on’ opportunity where attendees will be able to become proficient at performing three important therapeutic skills.
