CERA Managing Director Professor Keith Martin is delivering the University of Melbourne’s 2019 David Danks Oration on the potential use of gene therapy to treat glaucoma.
Gene therapy promises to revolutionise the treatment of inherited eye disease. In this lecture, Professor Martin will explore the potential use of gene therapy to treat glaucoma that is progressing despite effective treatment to lower the eye pressure.
In particular, he will consider the use of a novel vector he has developed that modulates brain-derived neurotrophic factor signalling and is currently progressing towards human clinical trials.
